Why I Made Kyndose
The Sports Family
They called us The Sports Family. Half teasing, half true.
Growing up, I watched my dad weigh every meal before his physique competitions, the kitchen scale as familiar as the dinner table. My second brother followed him onto the stage. My youngest brother came out of the womb chasing a football.
I followed too, pharmacy school by day, weightlifting after. After years of weighing food, I stopped counting. The calories lived in my hands.
Then I started racing bikes. I raced for the Iraqi Women’s National Team and spent years racing in Dubai, where the heat is not a variable, it is the entire problem. You learn fast what your body actually needs when the pavement is hot and you are still an hour from home.
When I moved to Houston, the heat came with me. I started reading the endurance science seriously. It felt like chemistry class again: right ratios, right amounts, at the right time.
Most of what I tried on the shelf did not work for me. Too little sodium. Too much noise around too few useful ingredients. So I started mixing my own. Then I shared it with riders who knew me from the road.
Before Kyndose had a label, it was shared with riders. Before it had a label, it had a route.
